Find a Western Union location. The company has offices scattered across Brazil. Go to westernunion.com (see Resources) to find the most convenient location for you. You can also call any Western Union location to make a transfer by phone. The numbers for each location are listed on westernunion.com. Customers of Banco do Brasil have the option of conducting the Western Union transfer online bb.com (see Resources).

Gather the materials you need to send the transfer. In addition to the money for the transfer, which can be in the form of cash or credit card, you will need the full name of the recipient and the city and country in which the money will be picked up.

Make the transfer. A Western Union agent will help you complete the required paperwork in person or by phone, or alternatively, complete the paperwork on the Banco do Brasil website, if you are a bank customer. If you are sending money out of Brazil, there is no need to change your money in advance. Western Union will make the currency conversion for you during the transaction, so you can pay in Reals, and on the other end, the recipient will be paid the money in his own currency. The fee for the transaction depends on the where you are sending the money and how much you are sending.

Trace your transfer. Once you have initiated the transfer, you will be provided with a money transfer number (MTN). You can use this number to trace the transaction by phone or via Westernunion.com.
