How to Open an HP Laptop Case

Open up your laptop computer case.

HP, one of the world's largest computer makers, has several different laptop brands, ranging form inexpensive netbooks to larger, more powerful gaming systems computers. If you ever decide to upgrade the hardware of the HP laptop the first task you must perform is opening the laptop case. This exposes you to the interior of the computer, giving you access to all of the upgradable hardware.

Things You'll Need

• Flathead screwdriver
• Phillips screwdriver

Instructions

1. Power down the computer then flip it over so the bottom is facing up.

2. Push across the battery switch to unlock the battery. Remove the battery and place it to the side.

3. Pry off any stickers on the bottom of the computer with your flat head screwdriver. Often these stickers cover up screws you need to remove in order to open the HP laptop case.

4. Unscrew all of the Phillips screws line around the side of the HP laptop. The screws are on the smaller side so make sure you keep the screws in a safe place once you have removed them from the computer.

5. Pull up on the computer case to remove it from the interior of the computer. You now have access to all of the hardware and content you want to upgrade.
