How to Set Up a Belkin G Wireless Router With Satellite

A Belkin Wireless G router is a device that can create a wide-range wireless computer or Internet network in your home or place of business. The Wireless G router can take any type of existing Internet connection and turn it into a wireless network--even a satellite Internet connection. To set everything up properly, first connect the router to the satellite modem, and then configure the router through your Web browser.

      Connect your Belkin Wireless G computer router to your satellite Internet modem with an Ethernet cable. Once the Ethernet cable is successfully plugged into both devices, an indicator light will appear on the front of Belkin Wireless G router.

      Enter the Belkin Wireless G router's IP address into your Web browser's address bar. The IP address of your Belkin Wireless G router is "http://192.168.2.1" (without quotation marks).

      Enter the user name for your Belkin G Wireless router. There is no password unless you have specified one yourself at a previous time. Click "Submit" to view your Belkin Wireless G router's "Settings" page.

      Use the "General" tab to give your Belkin Wireless G router network a name. This name will be required to identify your network to computers that are trying to connect to it.

      Use the "Security" tab to configure a password for the network that is being created by your Belkin Wireless G router.
