How to Download Free Songs From the Internet for an MP3
MP3 is a music file format that many people use to play music on their computer, iPod or other portable MP3 player. Nowadays, a number of websites offer free MP3 songs to download. Some of these websites are mentioned in the first section of this article. Another option is to download the song from the artist's website.

Click any link from Resources section of this article to open a website that offers free downloadable MP3s. Some of these websites are Stereogum, EZ-Tracks, AirMP3 and ARTISTdirect.

Select a song from the different music genres listed on the page or select a song from categories such as Latest Songs or Most Popular. If you have a particular song in mind, just type the name of the track in the search box on the page.

Click the "Download" button next to the song. Click "Save As" to save the file in a folder or on the desktop of your computer.

Open the song and play it in the player you usually use for playing music (for instance, iTunes, Windows Media Player, Winamp and so on). You can also transfer it to your iPod or MP3 player.
Download Songs from Artists' Websites

Visit the website of the artist whose songs you like. If you do not know the artist's website, simply type the name of the artist in the text field of your search engine (Google, MSN, Yahoo! and so on) and click the link to the website from the search results.

Go to the Music/Tracks section of the website. Here you will find listed songs by that particular artist. Click a song to see whether it is available for free download.

Click the "Download" button next to the song (if the song is available for download). Now click "Save As" to save the file in a folder or on the desktop of your computer.

Listen to the song on your computer or transfer it to your MP3 player.
