How to Reinstall Java
Created by Sun Microsystems, Java is a widely used programming language. It allows programmers to create applications capable of running on any operating system, as long as the computer has the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) software installed. If you experience problems with the JRE, reinstalling the software may be the fastest way to correct them. Once you understand the proper steps, removing the existing JRE from your machine and installing the latest version become straightforward tasks.
Instructions
-

-
1
Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Control Panel." Depending on your Start Menu configuration, this item may be located within the "Settings" folder.

Tips & Warnings
Apple Computer supplies its own version of Java with the Mac OS X operating system. It also provides a built-in updating feature. Check for newer versions of the JRE by clicking the "Apple" menu in the top-left corner of the screen and selecting "Software Update." If an update is available, select the name of the update and click "Install." After providing your administrator account name and password, the JRE update will download and install automatically. Restart your computer if prompted to do so.
