How to Connect Kicker Dual Voice Coil Speakers
Kicker dual voice coil speakers are a particular type of subwoofer that is popular among car audio enthusiasts. These subwoofers come in a variety of sizes and produce loud, deep-toned audio. Unlike regular car speakers, these must be installed in a subwoofer enclosure and connected to an amplifier, which provides a large amount of power. Installing these speakers can be quite easy and finished in less than a half hour. Prior to installing speakers, make sure that your amplifier is disconnected from the car battery to prevent any damage.

1
Prepare the speaker wire by cutting two 2-foot-long segments and stripping the ends with a wire stripper.
-
2
Connect one length of speaker wire to the terminals on the Kicker dual voice coil speaker. Speaker wire is actually composed of two separate wires in one sheath, so attach one wire to the positive terminal and the other wire to the negative terminal. These wires are usually notated with a positive or negative symbol.

3
Connect the other end of this wire to the speaker wire terminal in the back of the subwoofer box. Ensure that the positive wire is connected only to the positive terminal while the negative wire is connected only to the negative terminal.
-
4
Screw the subwoofer into the box. Each subwoofer, depending on its size, has between six and 10 holes for screws.
-
5
Attach the second length of speaker wire from the terminal on the outside of the subwoofer box to the amplifier. Once again, ensure that the positive wire is connected only to positive terminals and the negative wire is connected only to negative terminals. While every amplifier is different, most use a screw to hold the wire in place.
