How to Create an Email Account in Linux

Create a new Linux email account.

When you are using Linux on your computer, it's important to remember that email accounts are linked to user accounts. In order to create a Linux email account, therefore, you will set up a new user account along with the new email account. That way, each person using your Linux system can have his own set up, as well as his own email account.

Instructions

1. Click "Applications," "System Settings," "Users" and "Groups" to open up the user manager menu.

2. Click "Add User," which will open up a window titled "Create New User."

3. Fill in the following: "User Name," "Password," "Confirm Password" and "Full Name." Click "Ok" to create the new account. This creates a new email with the user name as the email address simultaneously.
