How to Reset an Inspiron C810's BIOS Password

If you've forgotten the password to access the BIOS on your Dell Inspiron computer, you don't have to worry. All BIOS' have a "backdoor" password that cannot be changed that can be used to enter the BIOS in just such an occasion. Once accessed, you can use the "Password" settings of your BIOS to change your password and gain access to the program once again. Just be sure to write the password down this time.

      Restart your Dell Inspiron C810.

      Press the "F2" key on your Dell Inspiron C810's keyboard immediately as your computer begins to reboot to access the BIOS.

      Enter the default BIOS password to gain access to the full functionality of the BIOS. On a Dell Inspiron C810, the default password is "Dell" (without quotation marks).

      Highlight the "Password" BIOS category and hit "Enter."

      Type your new password into the box on screen and then hit "Enter." The BIOS will change your password to the one you have just specified. Highlight "Save Changes and Exit" to back out of the BIOS and restart your computer. The password on your Dell Inspiron C810 has successfully been reset and you will now be able to access the BIOS with your new password.
