How to Block Porn Sites & MySpace on a Home Computer
Pornographic websites and potentially dangerous sites, including the social networking site MySpace, can be blocked on your computer through the Parental Controls feature. This feature allows you to block specific sites, websites with keywords and also limit your child's Internet use. Parental Controls is found in the Internet Explorer settings on your Windows PC, and is found in the System Preferences on Macintosh computers. Once the privacy preferences are set, any attempts to access the inappropriate sites will result in a popup window that requires your administrator password to permit the site.

Click the "System Preferences" icon on the screen dock, and click the "Accounts" button.

Click the account you wish to configure in the Accounts sidebar and click the "Enable Parental Controls" button.

Select the "Content" tab and click the "Customize" button. Click the circle next to "Try to limit access to adult websites automatically."

Select the "+" button under the "Never allow these websites" and type "myspace.com" in the blank field. Press the "Return" key to save the site to the banned list and click "OK."

Click "Start" on the taskbar and click "Control Panel" from the popup menu.

Select "User Accounts" and click the "Set up Parental Controls" link.

Highlight the account you want to configure and select the "On" button under the Parental Controls section.

Select the "Web Filter" under the Web Settings section, and click "Block some websites or content."

Select "Edit the Allow and Block list," and type "http://www.myspace.com" in the blank field. Click "Block" to add it to the block list. For other inappropriate sites, enter the URL and click the "Block" button.

Close out of the window by clicking the red "X" button in the upper-right corner of the window.
