How to Fold BDU Sleeves

The BDU, or battle dress uniform, refers to the jacket and pants combination that is issued to military personnel and also to a number of police units as well. When not wearing the BDU jacket, it should be folded up and put away. Folding the sleeves properly is the first step towards making sure that your BDU jacket is ready when you need it to be.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay out your BDU on a flat surface. Unbutton the sleeve button and flatten out the sleeve.

    • 2

Put your arm halfway up the sleeve from the wrist opening and pinch the fabric of the sleeve. Pull the fabric up until the sleeve is rolled inside out to the seam of the shoulder. Flatten out the sleeve.

    • 3

Roll the sleeve halfway up its full length. It should be rolled over twice now. Roll the sleeve up once more. Flatten it so it is smooth.

    • 4

Take the cuff and fold it over the sleeve so it covers it completely. At this point, you should only be able to see the cuff of your BDU sleeve.
