Try on several pairs. Getting the right fit is important. The pants will be snug from the waist all the way to the ankles, but they should not be so tight that you can't breathe or move normally. Touching the skin is one thing, squeezing it is entirely different. Choose a pair with spandex blend material.

2
Pair skinny pants with slim fit T-shirts, straight tops and jackets that fit well. Big baggy tops over skinny pants have the unfortunate effect of making you look like a lollipop. On the other hand thin shirts that are very form-fitting can create a feminine silhouette, which you are most likely want to avoid. A solution, is to wear a vest to keep the look slim and stylish.

3
Choose shoes that complement your look. Canvas shoes are the obvious choice. Chunky shoes, whether they are big boots or bulky athletic shoes, are out of proportion and do not work with skinny pants. Instead, wear low profile shoes or thin dress boots.
-
4
Walk away from skinny pants if you do not have the right shape. Body builders and any one with a pot belly, or even significant love handles, should not wear this look. Skinny pants are really only appropriate on slim men.

5
Walk with confidence. Be willing to embrace this look, or put it away. Skinny pants will make you stand out from the sea of sameness in most areas. If you cannot wear the look without being uncomfortable or continually adjusting your pants then they may not be the right look for you.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure the pants do not hang too low. Skinny pants that droop under your butt are not attractive on anyone.
Consider buying a size larger and shrinking to fit. Keep washing and drying at high heat until they fit the way you like.
