Use an adapter to convert this VGA plug to a DVI connection.

Digital Video Interface (DVI) devices transmit video to another device through 24 metal pins wired into a cable. DVI delivers a high-quality video signal to flat-screen devices such as computer monitors and LCD TV sets. Although some LCD televisions are equipped with a VGA (video graphics array) jack for hooking up other components, the VGA connection can be converted to DVI with an adapter available at electronics and computer stores.

Instructions

    • 1

Attach one end of the VGA cable to the VGA input on the LCD TV by pushing the plug onto the jack with the wider end turned upward.

    • 2

Plug the other end of the cable into the VGA socket on the adapter.

    • 3

Attach one plug on the DVI cable to the DVI socket on the adapter, pushing firmly to secure the connection.

    • 4

Hook up the other end of the DVI cable to a compatible device.

    • 5

Turn on the two components and operate normally.

Tips & Warnings

  • Unplug video equipment from the power while connecting the components.
