How to Install a Realtek 8139 Driver From a CD

The Realtek 8139 driver is an operating software used to install and configure a Realtek LAN card or controller. The LAN interface cards that support this driver version are accompanied by an installation CD containing the driver that must be installed for proper operation. Installing the driver is a streamlined process, due to Realtek's usage of an automatic installation package located on the CD-ROM.

Instructions

1. Insert the driver disc into your CD-ROM drive.

2. Click your desktop's "Start" button, right-click "Computer" and select the "Properties" heading.

3. Click "Device Manager."

4. Click the "Network Adapters" heading.

5. Right-click your Realtek network card and select "Re-install Drivers."

6. Select the "Install from a specific location" radio button.

7. Select the "Include this location" button.

8. Click the "Browse" button and use the resulting navigation dialog box to select your CD-ROM drive.

9. Click "Next" to begin the driver search and installation procedure. The correct driver version for your operating system will be located and installed.

10. Restart the computer to allow for system changes to take effect.
