How to Add Yahoo to My Web Page

How to Add Yahoo to My Web Page thumbnail
Adding Yahoo! Search to your webpages is easy.

Although there are a number of Internet search engines available, Yahoo! has always been one of the most popular both for its ease of use and for effectiveness. Installing the Yahoo! search bar on your website will not only provide your users with a way to search the Internet from your pages, but will also allow them to search your site. Thanks to Yahoo!'s willingness to provide the HTML code, no programming skills are necessary to quickly add this feature, only a working knowledge of your website's HTML editing software.

Instructions

    • 1

Navigate to the Yahoo! Search Box.

    • 2

Select one of the four styles of Yahoo! search boxes you want to be displayed on your website.

    • 3

Left click and highlight the HTML code in the box immediately below the style search box you've chosen. When all of the code is highlighted, right click and select "Copy."

    • 4

Open up the portion on your website that allows you to edit HTML. Select the web page file where you would like your search bar to go, and insert the HTML code from Yahoo! by right clicking in the spot where you would like the search box to appear, and select "Paste."

    • 5

Save the changes made and upload to the hosting site.

    • 6

Test to be sure the search bar is appearing where you want it to appear.

    • 7

Repeat Steps 4, 5 and 6 above for each webpage on which you want the search box to appear.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you chose either the Style 2 or Style 4 search boxes, replace the text "YOUR SITE DOMAIN" with your own site domain (e.g., "news.yahoo.com").
