How to Remove Chocolate Drink Stains
Chocolate drink stains are considered water-based stains and should be treated as such. Whether the chocolate drink stain has occurred on carpet, clothing or other fabric, it can be effectively cleaned with easy solutions. The key to removing stains is to get to them as quickly as possible. This prevents the stain from setting and becoming more difficult to remove. Things You'll Need
- Spoon or butter knife
- Paper towels
- 1/4 tsp. of clear liquid dish detergent
- White cloth
- White towel

Scrape away any dried-on debris with a spoon or butter knife. Work from the outside edges in to avoid spreading the stain into surrounding fibers.

Blot up any remaining liquid with paper towels.

Make a solution with 1/4 tsp. of liquid dish detergent and 1 cup of water. Dip a white cloth in the solution and dab the chocolate stained area gently. If necessary work the solution into the stain with your fingertips.

Rinse the stain with clear, lukewarm water. Cover with a white towel or white paper towels, and blot completely to pick up all of the remaining water.

Repeat this process until the stain is gone. Blot up further water by pressing a heavy object over the area covered with paper towels or a white towel.

Tips & Warnings
For tough chocolate stains that do not respond to the treatment above, make a solution of 2 tbsp. of non-sudsing and non-bleaching ammonia with 1 cup of warm water. Apply to the area and rinse and blot. Follow up with a neutralizing cleaner of 1 cup of white vinegar mixed with 2 cups of warm water. Apply to the area, blot and rinse as above.
