Fiberglass is a material used to build cars and boats, as well as other forms of transportation and water craft. Most of the time, each of these forms of transportation comes with factory decals, and some people choose to remove them. The reasons for removing the decals vary from person to person, but the most common reason to remove decals is to repaint and decorate the car. Fortunately, removing decals from a fiberglass boat is not all that difficult to do.

Things You'll Need

  • Hair dryer
  • Plastic pastry cutter
  • Lighter fluid
  • Paper towels

Instructions

      Plug the hair dryer in and turn it on high heat.

      Hold the hair dryer over the decal so that the decal warms up. This will soften the glue and enable you to peel the decal off.

      Put the edge of the plastic pastry cutter in between the decal and the side of the boat to help you pull the decal off.

      Remove all gluing by putting a squirt or two of lighter fluid on a folded paper towel and rubbing the side of the boat until the glue is removed.

      Rinse with warm water.
