How to Fix a Slow Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer is the default browser on all Microsoft Windows computers. You may find after extended use that the browser no longer surfs the web at the same speed as when you first began using it. This is due to a build-up of Internet history and cache files, all of which slow the browser down. Once you remove the build-up of files you can regain browsing speed.

1
Stop any downloads or uploads taking place on the computer. If you are using a peer-to-peer program (such as LimeWire or FrostWire), your browser speed slows.
-
2
Click "Start" and "Control Panel," and double-click "Internet Options."
-
-
3
Select the "General" tab and choose "Clear History." When a prompt window appears, select "Yes." All of the cache files and Internet history are removed from Explorer.
-
4
Close the Control Panel and launch Internet Explorer. The browser now performs at its normal speed.
