How to Convert a Flash Drive to U3

The U3 file format is a specific method of formatting a flash drive in order to enable the storage of entire applications. Converting your existing flash drive to the U3 format can be done by downloading the U3 installer from the U3 website and running the program on your drive. This is a process which can be completed in about 10 minutes, depending on the speed of your computer.

Instructions

1. Navigate to the U3 website (see Resources) and click on the "Update your drive today" button in the lower left corner of the screen.

2. Select "Save" and save the file to your desktop.

3. Double-click on the downloaded file to run the U3 converter.

4. Insert your flash drive into the PC.

5. Select the drive letter of your flash drive and press "Start" to format your drive using the U3 file format.
