How to Fix Script Error Messages


Script error messages occur due to Internet Explorer not properly reading the script from a website. Script error messages can become annoying over time. In the end, the webpage developer can fix script errors on a webpage but you can fix the script error prompts through Internet Explorer to stop pop-ups.

Things You'll Need

  • Internet Explorer
  • Double-click on the Internet Explorer browser icon on the desktop to run the program.

  • Click on "Tools" located in the top menu bar in the Explorer page.

  • Select "Internet Options" in the drop-down menu.

  • Click the "Advanced" tab, on the top of the "Internet Options" dialog box. Internet Explorer advanced options will appear in the "Settings" box.

  • Find the "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)" and "Disable script debugging (Other)" options in the list. Place a check in the boxes by these two settings.

  • Take off the checkmark from the "Display a notification about every script error" option box.

  • Click "Apply" then click on the "OK" button to initiate the changes and fix the script error messages.
