The drop tops on Jeep Wranglers are put down the same way on all models. The sides are connected to the Jeep's frame and the roof by zippers. The roof is connected to the Jeep by a number of retaining clips, zippers and slide locks. Once all the zippers and lock are disengaged, the Jeep's top folds back and tucks into the trunk behind the spare tire. This is a basic job that every Jeep owner needs to know.
Unzip the right and left side covers and pull the two covers off the side of the Jeep Wrangler. Store the covers in a clean dry place.
Pull down on the two metal handles above the dashboard to release the front top of the roof from the frame.
Pull the round plastic slide lock backward on the right- and left-side support bars that were covered by the side cover.
Pull the roof backward from the front to the rear and tuck the side flaps inward. Push the roof down into the Jeep's trunk.
