How to Uninstall Windows Defender in XP
Windows Defender was created after Windows XP and was integrated into Windows Vista. This Microsoft software program intends to provide some basic protections against such things as pop ups and viruses. For some people, Windows Defender has been a wonderful experience, alerting them to problems they never knew existed. For others, however, it has been nothing short of an annoyance. Fortunately, uninstalling Windows Defender is very easy because Windows XP offers an automatic uninstall option for all programs.

Click the “Start” button.

Click “Control Panel."

Click “Add or remove programs.”

Find "Windows Defender" in the list of installed programs and right-click it.

Click “uninstall.” You will be asked if you are sure. Click “OK.” Windows Defender should uninstall from your system.
Alternate Method

If the method above does not work, you can also try uninstalling Windows Defender from the command line. Click the “Start” button.

Click “Run.”

Type “msiexec /uninstall windowsdefender.msi /quiet /log uninstall.log” (without quotations). Press "Enter."
Windows Defender should uninstall.

You can generally use the first method to uninstall any program that did not come with Windows XP.
If you uninstall Windows Defender, you should consider looking into third-party virus scanners and pop-up blockers because it is very important to keep your computer protected.
