Save

Microsoft's Outlook Express (OE) has long been a popular email client with those computer users that prefer a simple program. A feature that comes in handy is the ability to highlight text, and there is a trick you can use to allow for this in Outlook Express.

  • Open Outlook Express and click the "Create Mail" button.

  • Click on the "Format" menu, and then select "Rich text (HTML) or Rich Text (HTML)."

  • Type in the text to be highlighted and then click the "Source" tab.

  • Position the insertion mark in front of the text to be highlighted.

  • Type "<span style="background-color:yellow;">" and then position the insertion mark at the end of the text to be highlighted. The word "yellow" can be replaced with any other color as you choose.

  • Type "</span>" , and then click on the "Edit" tab. You can then resume your email.
