Fixing the color settings of a computer monitor is easier than you think. When you purchase a new monitor, the color settings may not be adjusted to your liking. The default color settings may make the display look too dull or too vibrant. Depending on your preference, fix the color settings of a computer monitor by accessing the monitor directly instead of through the computer’s operating system. Using the monitor’s menu settings, you can fix several different aspects, including color.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the “Menu” button on the lower right or left side of the monitor. Some monitors have the “Menu” button going vertically up the side of the monitor.

    • 2

Use the “+” or “-” button on the monitor to move down to highlight “Color” or “Color Settings.”

    • 3

Hit the “Menu” button to select “Color” or “Color Settings.”

    • 4

Push the “+” or “-” button to navigate to “Custom Color.”

    • 5

Use the “+” or “-” button to move between the Red, Green and Blue dials. Select a dial by highlighting it and hitting the “Select” or “Menu” button on the monitor.

    • 6

Press the “+” button to increase the color and the “-” button to decrease the color. For example, if the monitor has a pink hue, push the “-” button while on the Red color bar to decrease the amount of red in the display. Navigate to the “Save” button, if applicable. Hit the “Menu” button until the Menu box is gone.
