When you sign up for Virgin Mobile, you typically save a credit or debit card to your account. This allows you to instantly pay your bill online, although Virgin does retain the information about your card. If you do not want the company to keep your credit card information, you can unregister the debit card from your account. You just need to re-enter the information the next time you pay your monthly bill.
