How to Delete Viruses Off Your Computer
Virus attacks are common occurrences in Windows operating systems. Viruses may enter your system through the Web, through a program or even via external storage devices. These viruses, if allowed to stay in your computer, can create considerable damage and may cause data loss. The best and easiest way to delete viruses off your computer is by using an anti-virus program.

Choose an anti-virus program. AVG, Avast, Avira and Norton all offer free trial editions and downloads. See Resources to explore more options and make a selection based on your needs.

Download the program. Follow the on-screen guided prompts to finish installation. Restart your computer.

Launch the anti-virus program. You should find a "quicklaunch" icon next to your clock at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. You may also use the menu command for your anti-virus program by clicking on the Start menu and selecting All Programs. Either way, click on the icon to open the program.

Run a complete scan of your system. Wait patiently, as this process could take a long time, depending on the size of your hard drive.

Follow the guided on-screen prompts to remove the viruses. Some anti-virus programs will do this step automatically. Review the scan report to make sure all the viruses have been deleted off your computer.
