Copy and paste a link in an email

When you come across a website or some web content you have to share with friends or colleagues, you can easily send them a link to the content in an email. Using keystrokes on your keyboard is universal and not dependent on your Windows operating system. You can also use built-in functionality that lets you copy and paste content.

Instructions

    • 1

Highlight the link by placing your cursor at the end of a link. Left-click and hold down the mouse button as you move back over the link. Release the left button. The link will now be highlighted.

    • 2

Hit the "Control" and "C" keys on your keyboard at the same time. You can also right-click on the highlighted link, scroll down and click "Copy."

    • 3

Double-click on your email application icon on your desktop if you use Outlook or Windows Mail to start it. If you use a web-based email service like Yahoo! Mail, open a browser and log in to your account.

    • 4

Start a new email. Put your cursor in the body of the email. Simultaneously press the "Control" and "V" keys on your keyboard. You can also right-click, scroll down and click "Paste." The link will appear in the body of your email.
