How to Change the Email Password in Thunderbird thumbnail
Change your Mozilla password.

Your Mozilla Thunderbird email was probably set up by your Internet Service Provider. If you gave a password, it was used. Or, the the provider might have put in a password for you to use at their own discretion. You might have also created a password because the first time you use Thunderbird, it usually prompts for a password and you can enter one at that time. If you need to change your password, there are a few ways that you can do it.

Instructions

    • 1

Log into Mozilla Thunderbird from any computer other than your own, by visiting the Mozilla site (See References). You need to do this because your own probably has a password saved on it and you won't be given a chance to change it. The first time you log in, you'll be presented with a "change password" option that you can use. Enter your original password when prompted, and then enter the changed password.

Go into your Mozilla Settings from your email client. Choose "password settings." Click "delete password."

    • 3

Shut your browser down and then re-open Mozilla email. The program will prompt you to enter a password for your client. Enter the password you would like to use and click "ok."
