Crushed ice also reduces the work on a blender motor when used in blended beverages. To create crushed ice for a drink, you do not need a fancy ice shredder. Things You'll Need

  • Ice cubes
  • Resealable heavy duty freezer bag
  • Towel
  • Hammer

Instructions

      Place the ice cubes into a heavy duty freezer bag.

      Squeeze the air from the bag and seal it.

      Wrap the bag inside a towel and set on a counter.

    • 4

      Gently rap the hammer against the towel over the ice cubes to crush the ice inside the bag. Use a series of several light raps on the towel to avoid damaging your counter. Stop crushing and open the towel at intervals to check the ice for the desired consistency. Recover the ice with the towel before you continue to crush until the ice breaks down into the size you want.

      Remove the towel and open the bag to use the crushed ice.
