How to Connect My TV to My Computer to Watch Downloaded Movies

Use the VGA port on your computer to connect to a television.

There are countless sites on the Internet that allow you to download videos directly to your computer. Since the monitor on your computer system is likely far smaller than your television, you may want to connect your computer to a television to watch the downloaded content on the larger screen. Once they're connected, you can even begin using the television as a permanent monitor for your computer.

Things You'll Need

• Computer
• VGA to RCA adapter
• Television

Instructions

1. Disconnect your current monitor from the VGA port on the back side of the computer.

2. Attach the VGA end of a VGA to RCA video cable connector to the VGA port on the computer. Tighten the screws along the side of the cable to secure the connection.

3. Plug the RCA cable into the "Video In" port on the television.

4. Power on the television and press the "Video" button on either the TV or the TV remote. Your television now acts as the computer monitor, allowing you to watch your downloaded movies.
