How to Create Embroidery Monograms Using Embird Studio

Save

Embroidery machines today make it possible to sew more intricate, more accurate designs than ever before by using computer files as guided templates. You can design the exact pattern you want using embroidery software like Embird Studio, and then load the pattern file right from your embroidery machine. A monogrammed handkerchief, towel or other item is a great way to start learning embroidery or to experiment with designing patterns on the computer. Embird Studio makes lettering and monogramming projects a snap.

  • Launch Embird Studio.

  • Click "Editor" in the menu at the top of the screen to launch the Editor window.

  • Click "Insert" in the top menu and choose "Text."

  • Select the font you wish to use from the "Plug-in" drop-down menu.

  • Type your monogram letters into the "Text" box towards the bottom. This field is case-sensitive.

  • Click the "Properties" tab toward the top of the window.

  • Enter the desired height and width of the monogram at the top of the window.

  • Change other settings, such as cover stitches and underlay, as needed.

  • Click "OK." You now have a monogram embroidery file to use with your machine and to share with others.
