Set up your Static IP address in Windows Vista.

Whenever you connect to the Internet, an IP (Internet Protocol) address is assigned to your computer to validate your Internet connection. Generally, you are assigned a random IP address by your Internet service provider. These random IP addresses are called "Dynamic" addresses. Dynamic IP addresses often change and can sometimes negatively impact your ability to get online. You can purchase a Static IP address from your ISP (Internet Service Provider) if you want more stability with your Internet connection. Once you purchase a Static IP address, you can easily set up up in Windows Vista.
