How to Change the Host Name in SUSE

The hostname of a computer is the unique name by which the computer is referenced on a network. Configuration of the hostname occurs when the operating system is installed. You may need to change the hostname if the network is reconfigured or if two computers have similar hostnames. OpenSUSE Linux is an open source operating system sponsored by Novell. SUSE Linux Enterprise is the enterprise version of Linux developed by Novell. Both versions use the "YAST" utility as a graphical method for configuring the computer, including the hostname.
