The Toyota T100 is a mid-size pickup truck with a V6 engine. On the top driver side of the engine is a yellow handle going into the engine. This is the transmission fluid dipstick. The engine and transmission must be warm to correctly check the transmission fluid. At the tip of the transmission dipstick are words that read "FULL" and "ADD." The level of the transmission fluid will determine if you need to add transmission fluid.

Instructions

    • 1

Start the engine and allow the transmission and engine to warm up for about 10 minutes. Open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. Turn off the engine.

    • 2

Pull the transmission fluid dipstick out of the tube. Wipe the dipstick off using the rag, then replace it in the tube.

    • 3

Pull the dipstick out of the tube and observe where the transmission fluid level is. If the transmission fluid level is at the "FULL" line, no transmission fluid is needed. If it is at the "ADD" line, add enough transmission fluid to bring the fluid level up to the "FULL" line.

Tips & Warnings

  • When adding transmission fluid, pour some into the dipstick tube, replace the dipstick back into the tube, then check the fluid level. Do this until the fluid level is at the "FULL" line.
