Becoming an Equity actor can be very challenging.

The Actor's Equity Association (AEA) is a stage actor's union representing more than 48,000 actors and stage managers in the United States. The union was founded in 1913 to improve the working conditions of actors and to give performers more bargaining power against producers. The union is a member of the American Federation of Labor and is associated with the international group of performance unions called the FIA. Becoming an Equity actor can take time and dedication.
