How to Tether Your Blackberry to the Computer
Research in Motion, the creator of the BlackBerry smartphone, also created a program to facilitate peripheral features on the phone. This program, the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, is free of charge to all BlackBerry users. One of its features allows you to use the Internet on your BlackBerry smartphone to connect your computer to the Internet. This is called Internet tethering.

Connect your BlackBerry smartphone to your computer through the USB port. Start the BlackBerry Desktop Manager if it doesn't start automatically.

Click "IP Modem" from the BlackBerry Desktop Manager home page. Click "Configure" to set the Internet tethering configuration. Input the Internet sharing settings for your mobile service provider. Click "OK" to save the settings.

Click "Connect" to start Internet tethering with your BlackBerry smartphone.

Tips & Warnings
Some mobile service providers prefer that you use their own Internet tethering programs for your BlackBerry smartphone. They usually provide their programs free of charge.
Internet sharing with your BlackBerry smartphone depends on whether your mobile service provider allows it. Most require that you have an Internet feature on your service contract. Some others restrict the amount of Internet tethering you can do per month. Contact our mobile service provider for more details.
