How to Burn Movies Using Windows Media Player
Windows Media is a media player for use with Windows by Microsoft. This program not only allows you to play music and watch movies, but it can also organize your media library and burn CDs and data DVDs. If you want to burn a video file you have, Windows Media will make the process of finding it and getting it to the DVD simple.

Open Windows Media. Click on the "Burn" tab at the top of the screen. Click the arrow below the "Burn" tab and select the "Data CD/DVD" option.

Open the disc drive in your computer and place the blank DVD into the drive. Close the drive and allow the computer to read the disc.

Click on the "Library" tab and browse through the files in your media library to find the movie file you want to burn. Click on the file and hold your mouse button down and drag the file from the "Library" pane to the "Burn" pane on the right hand side of the screen.

Click on the "Start Burn" button over the Burn list to begin the burning. Once the file has burned, remove the disc from the drive.

Tips & Warnings
Because of the large capacity on DVD discs, you may be able to burn two or three movies onto one disc.
Windows Media does not support the burning of video files in a DVD format. The only way to burn movies is through a data file. Some DVD players will play video files from this type disc. Read the instruction manual on your DVD player to determine if you can play the disc.
