How to Burn a DVD in Nero Smart Essentials

Nero Smart Essentials is a collection of various programs under the "Nero" brand name that allow you to burn different types of media and data discs on your computer. Nero Smart Essentials includes some of the programs that are found in the fully featured Nero software pack. If you want to burn a DVD using one of the programs that comes with Nero Smart Essentials, you'll need to use Nero Burning ROM.

Instructions

1. Click "Start."

2. Click "Programs."

3. Click "Nero."

4. Click "Nero Burning ROM." This icon will launch the program of the same name, which is the program in Nero Smart Essentials that is used to burn various types of DVD discs.

5. Select the type of DVD you'd like to burn from the column on the left side of the "New Compilation" wizard. Once you've made your selection, click "New" to open a new blank disc template.

6. Drag the files from your computer that you'd like to burn to your DVD into the Nero Burning ROM program window. Pay attention to the "disc usage" meter on the bottom portion of the screen--this will tell you how much disc space you have left to work with.

7. Insert a blank DVD into your DVD burner.

8. Click the "Burn" button. Review your disc settings with the "Burn Compilation" window that appears on screen, and once you're satisfied click on the "Burn" button again. Nero Burning ROM will use the DVD in your DVD burner to create the disc using the files you specified.
