How to Charge a Blackberry Curve for the First Time

When you buy a BlackBerry Curve from a retailer, the phone has very little charge to it. This charge is meant to allow the retailer to activate the phone or to ensure the phone is working before you leave the store. However, the small charge that the BlackBerry Curve has is not enough for much use. You will have to charge your BlackBerry Curve yourself before you can use your phone extensively.

Things You'll Need

• BlackBerry battery
• AC adapter

Instructions

1. Turn your BlackBerry Curve over so that the battery panel is facing up. Press the release button near the bottom and then slide the battery panel off.

2. Insert the BlackBerry battery into the battery compartment, making sure to line up the contacts on the BlackBerry battery to the ones in the compartment. Replace the battery panel on your BlackBerry Curve.

3. Press the red "End Call" button until the BlackBerry Curve screen lights up. Note the BlackBerry battery level at the top of the screen.

4. Connect the AC adapter to the BlackBerry Curve via the USB port on the side of the handset. Connect the other end to an outlet. Continue to charge the BlackBerry Curve until the BlackBerry battery level at the top of screen is full.

Tips & Warnings

• You can also charge a BlackBerry Curve by connecting it with its USB cable to a computer.
