How to Disable Adobe Reader 8 Updater

Adobe Reader 8 enables you to launch and read PDF forms from the Internet or downloaded from networks. Adobe Reader 8 comes with an update tool which launches automatically every time you start your computer and searches for updates from the Adobe server. If you prefer to install the Adobe Reader 8 updates manually, you can disable the update feature quickly and easily.

Instructions

1. Launch the Adobe 8 customization wizard. If you do not have the customization wizard, download it from Adobe support--see the link in the "Resources" section--and then launch it.

2. Click "EULA" and then click "Online Options."

3. Check the "Disable Updates" option to turn off the Adobe Reader 8 updater.
