How to Play Movies on a Wii

Use your Nintendo Wii to watch movies of upcoming video games, special interviews and more. The Nintendo Wii is not capable of playing DVDs but you can watch dozens of movies if your Nintendo Wii is connected to the Internet.

Instructions

1. Power on your Nintendo Wii and select the “Wii Shop Channel” from the Wii home screen.

2. Select “Wii Channels” once the Wii Shop Channel has loaded.

3. Locate “Nintendo Channel” in the list of available Wii channels. Select it and click the “Download” button.

4. Exit the Wii Shop Channel after the download is complete. Locate and select the “Nintendo Channel” from the Wii home screen.

5. Use the arrow buttons on the left and right of the screen to scroll through the list of available videos. Highlight the movie you wish to watch and press “A” to start playback.

6. Use the on-screen buttons to pause, fast forward, rewind or make the movie full-screen as you’re watching.

Tips & Warnings

• Your Wii may have to download an automatic system update after you download the Nintendo Channel.

• Starting spring 2010, you will be able to stream Netflix movies to your Nintendo Wii.
