How to Open Windows Explorer Subfolder

Windows Explorer is a component of the Windows operating system that lets you view information about files, folders and drives on your computer. It makes it easy for you to locate system components and copy, paste and move them around as you please. Windows Explorer relies on a root system, which organizes folders so that files are stored properly. When you know how to open Windows Explorer subfolders, you can find the files you want.

Instructions

1. Click the Windows "Start" button, select "All Programs" and select "Accessories." Click "Windows Explorer" to launch Windows Explorer. Alternatively, you can launch Windows Explorer by right-clicking the Windows "Start" button and clicking "Explore." You should see the folders list in the left panel.

2. Click the plus symbol (+) next to the folder you want to expand. For example, click the plus symbol next to the "C:" drive if you want to expand the C: drive. Once you expand the folder, you should see a series of subfolders.

3. Double-click the subfolder you want to expand. You should see the contents of the subfolder in the right panel.
