How to Reconfigure a Westell Modem With a BellSouth DSL
When using high-speed Internet access through Bell South, you are going to need a DSL high-speed Internet modem to access the Web. Although you can pay a monthly fee to rend the modem from the company, you can actually use your own Internet modem, such as the Westell Modem. This will give you the same features as one you rent from the company.

1
Insert the Ethernet cable into the wall outlet. Connect the opposite end into the "WAN" port on the rear of your Westell modem.
-
2
Insert the second Ethernet cable into an "Out" port on the Westell modem. Connect the other end of the cable into the "WAN" port on your computer.
-
-
3
Find the "http" address listed on the Westell modem. It is a series of numbers that you need to activate the modem.
-
4
Open the Internet browser on your computer and type the full "http" address into the URL bar. This brings up the activation page. Type in "admin" for both the password and username. Create your own username and password. You are required to type in the password twice to confirm it.
-
5
Select that you are using a DSL connection, and check off if you are connecting it to a wireless router (you can change this in the future). Click "Save" and you are ready to begin using your Westell modem with the BellSouth Internet connection.
