Step 1
Check the Veterans Day home page of the Department of Veterans Affairs (va.gov) to find out if you live near an official Veterans Day Regional Site.
-
Step 2
Call your local school principal to volunteer your time for Veterans Day activities. Since school is not in session on the holiday, a celebration will most likely be held a few days earlier.
-
Step 3
Call someone you know who served in the armed forces, just to say thanks.
-
Step 4
Attend a Veterans Day parade in your community to show your support.
-
Step 5
Hang an American flag outside your home.

on 11/22/2005 My students will hear a story about
WWII &/or Veteran's Day, and then
write a personal letter to a WWII
Veteran. (I'll mail them.)
