How to Convert GIF Files to JPEG
Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) provides very small graphic files for websites. The GIF format is still used on some website layouts to provide users with a quick way to load a web page. Since GIF files are small, they are useful for cell phone accessible websites. GIF can be transferred to the JPEG format, which is a more defined image format. These images can be freely converted using the Microsoft Paint program, which is included on any Windows machine.

Right-click the GIF file you want to convert and select "Open With." In the list of applications displayed, select "Microsoft Paint." The file is opened and Microsoft Paint loads on your computer.

Click the "File" menu item and select "Save As." A new dialog window opens. In the drop-down box labeled "Save As Type," select "JPEG" from the options.

Enter a file name for the converted JPEG image. You do not need to enter a file name extension, because the Microsoft Paint application automatically places the suffix on the file.
