The KSE, or Karachi Stock Exchange, is an international exchange located in Pakistan. It allows local and foreign investors to buy and sell securities registered with the exchange. The KSE follows the standard used in major international exchanges including the NASDAQ, London Stock Exchange and the World Economic Forum. You can purchase shares of companies and funds listed on the KSE.

      Find a brokerage house that allows international traders to buy KSE listed investments. AKD Trade and IGI Securities are two such firms.

      Open the account by downloading the forms from the brokerage firm. Fill out the forms and send it to the listed address with a cashier's check to fund the account.

      Research the available investments through your online brokerage account or directly at the KSE.com website. You will be able to get real time quotes and trades through these sites. There are four market indices you may purchase listed with the Karachi Stock Exchange: KSE 100, KSE 30, All Shares or KMI-30.

      Purchase the investments on the exchange you want. Confirm your order and track your investments with your online account.

  • KSE 100 is the most popular index representing over 85% of the exchange capitalization.

  • KSE 30 includes the top 30 companies with the most liquidity on the exchange.

  • All Shares maintains every company listed on the KSE.

  • KMI 30 is comprised of the 30 most liquid Shariah-compliant companies in the KSE. It is rebalanced annually.

  • Be sure to check the minimum account requirements when opening an account. The values are in rupees.

  • When making international investments be aware of the exchange rates involved.
