How to Install Flash Player 7 for QuickBooks
QuickBooks is an award-winning accounting software title that makes it easy to manage your finances. Unfortunately, some users experience problems while installing QuickBooks when the software attempts to install Flash Player 7 from the installation disc. Regardless of whether the error message is for Error 3, Error 1316 or Error 1603, QuickBooks won't be able to run properly until Flash Player 7 has been installed. This is not a major problem, however, as Flash Player 7 can be installed in a matter of minutes, and then QuickBooks installation can continue normally.

Locate the downloaded copy of Flash Player and double-click it to begin the installation process. Wait while the installer extracts the necessary files and installs Flash Player on your system.

Verify that Flash Player has been properly installed. You can do this by opening the Start menu and selecting the "Control Panel" option, then choosing "Add or Remove Programs" or "Uninstall a Program." Look for "Macromedia Flash Player 7" or a version of "Adobe Flash Player" in the list to confirm that it is installed on your system.

Insert the QuickBooks installation disc into your computer's disc drive, or locate the downloaded installation program if you purchased QuickBooks as digital media. Allow AutoRun to launch the installer (or double-click on the installation program's icon).

Follow the on-screen prompts to install QuickBooks in order to make sure that the installer recognizes your new installation of Flash Player 7 or above. Since the installer doesn't have to install Flash Player 7 itself, you should be able to complete installation without an error message.

Tips & Warnings
Any version of Flash Player newer than version 7 will also meet the requirements of QuickBooks.
If you still encounter error messages, use Windows Explorer to browse the installation disc and locate a file called "QuickBooks.msi" in the "QBooks" folder. Run this program to install QuickBooks without checking for Flash Player 7.
