How to Color Popcorn for a Garland
Assemble a festive popcorn garland by first dying your popcorn. To do this, you will need a few simple materials and a workspace that is properly covered because you will be working with dye. Experiment with several different colors to achieve the look and color palette you want for your holiday popcorn streamers.

1
Slip your hands into plastic gloves, and cover your workspace with newspaper. Both of these steps will help protect you and your table from any mishaps with food coloring.
-
2
Pour one tablespoon of water into a large, deep plastic bowl. Add four or five drops of food color. You can add more later if the color is not deep enough.

-
3
Pop a bag of popcorn in the mircowave, and pour it into the bowl until it's about half full.
-
4
Cover the bowl with aluminum foil.
-
5
Firmly grip the sides of the bowl, and shake up and down and side to side. If you are adventurous, turn the bowl over and shake it.
-
6
Remove the foil and check the hue of the popcorn. If it is not colorful enough, then mix a tablespoon of water with four or five drops of coloring in a cup. Pour over the popcorn in the bowl, put the foil back on the bowl and toss again.
