How to Connect DSL Wires
A DSL wire, more commonly known as an Ethernet cable, connects your DSL modem to a wall outlet or to your computer. However, if the modem is too far from the Ethernet port or your computer, you may find the actual Ethernet cable does not reach from one device to the other. In order to increase the length of the Ethernet cable you need to connect two Ethernet cables together.

1
Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the DSL modem. If you're connecting the modem to your computer, insert the cable into one of the numbered "Out" ports. If you're connecting the DSL modem to a wall port, insert it into the "WAN" port.

2
Plug the opposite end of the Ethernet cable into the female-to-female Ethernet adapter. This adapter allows you to connect two Ethernet cables together.

3

-
4
Attach the other end of the second Ethernet cable into either the wall outlet or the "WAN" port on the computer (if the first cable is connected to the numbered "Out" port).
