DIY WiFi High Gain USB Antenna
If you access the Internet through a wireless connection on your computer but the signal is weak and you are constantly being disconnected from the Web you need to increase the strength of your WiFi connection. In order to do so you can connect a WiFi high gain USB antenna to your computer. This often increases your reception by over five times its current distance. It is also possible to install the hardware yourself, without the aid from your Internet provider.

- USB cable
- Power cable
- Driver installation CD

Attach the antenna(s) to the back side of the WiFi high gain USB base. The device is going to have either one or two attachable antennas. The antennas snap into place on the back of the device.

Insert the USB data cable into the USB port on the antenna, then connect the opposite side of the USB cable into any provided USB port on your computer.

Insert the diver installation CD into the computer. Momentarily the installation wizard appears on your screen. Accept any license agreement given to you, then leave the installation name and location as the default settings. Click "Install" and the driver installs onto your computer.

Right-click the wireless icon on your desktop and select "Enable," then right-click the icon again and choose to view all available WiFi connections in the area. You are going to so many more connects than you are use to (due to the increased wireless radius). Select the connection you want, type in the network password (if required) and click "Connect."
