The Indian motorcycle is a classic competitor of Harley-Davidson. There where a few different models of Indian motorcycle offered in 2000. The engine oil is housed in the crank case on the right side of the engine toward to bottom of the engine. On the bottom of the crank case is a metal drain plug that will need to be removed in order to drain the engine oil.

  • Drain pan
  • Ratchet set
  • Funnel
  • Engine oil

      Place the drain pan under the crank case drain plug. Remove the drain plug using the ratchet set. Allow the engine oil to drain from the engine into the drain pan. Replace the drain plug to the crank case.

      Remove the small plastic cap on the side of the engine that reads "OIL" on it. Place the funnel into the hole and pour the recommended type and amount for your specific model of Indian motorcycle. Remove the funnel and replace the cap.

      Start the engine and allow the engine to run for about five minutes to run the new engine oil through the engine components.

  • The owners manual will have the recommendations for your specific Indian motorcycle model.

  • If the engine is hot and you change the engine oil you will be burned.
